My most precious is a 12' single on the TechnoClub label called 'Into Another.' The guy who taught me how to DJ gave it to me years ago. I must have played that record at dozens of raves, outdoor parties, and house parties, and it rocked the floor every time, possibly one of the best trance beats ever committed to vinyl.
The cover is worn and a bit tattered, the record itself is scratched and worn to an almost comical level, but I'm kind of considering framing it up exactly the way it is. I recently managed to track down a used copy of the CD single in good condition in Germany and bought it. Once all the currency fees and international shipping was tallied up, I spent about $30 for a copy of that track that I can use with SSL, and it was worth every cent. That's tough, I have a lot of White Label test pressings from the Detroit Techno & Chicago House scene that have meaning to me personally (and maybe some true collectors) but are probably worthless in actuality. I'd have to say my personal one is one of the first runs of the test pressings Strings of Life by Derrick May on Transmat. Derrick just wrote the record number and Transmat on one side and scribbled a ball of String on the other. Actually back then i was playing the B-side cut called 'Move It' - LOL.
