I have seen a Cornet made by Salvationist Publishing & Supplies LTD announced on the internet, being sold in a city near mine. The person who is selling it has no deeper information about it, but it is possible for me to go check it. But before I do it, I would like to know more about Salvationist Cornets. How is the the Salvationist Cornets quality and reputation? I heard there are different pitches, like high and low pitches Salvationist Cornets.

I also heard that Salvationist Publishing & Supplies made high pitched instruments until 1964. What is a high pitch or a low pitch Cornet? Serial number of the Cornet in the pictures is 29880 and the letter M.
Thanks for the help! Noticed The Salvation Army instrument is in wonderful shape or is a great restoration. Noticed it has the same mouthpiece (deep one) that I remembered in my years as a Salvationist/Salvation Army officer.

Serial # 29880 M He says the Cornet was always his and his mother brought it from England around 1969/70. He had an accident and he had to stop playing it.
He cleaned it every 6 months and now he is keeping all the parts separated and dry, because of the grease and oil that would get thick if left on the tubes and valves for too long without any use. Maybe it is worth the visit to go check this instrument out. I have a good horn family (as you can see in my signature) but I would like to have a Cornet with very good tone, and the idea of having something vintage and respected by the Cornet-players community encourages me. What's you guys advise me? Thanks again! Download Twmplate Corel Video Studio X6 more.

Crossing information given by the seller and comparing pictures, I think that this 'The Triunphonic' instrument he is selling is the exact same model being sold by Dillon. This includes the right hand ring, where we put the small finger. The one shown on the pictures from the seller is also a perfect ring.
Here is the picture from Dillon's website: Check out Dillon's link: The price I would pay would be about the same. Would you say I go for it? Thanks again. _________________ -Yamaha 8335IIS trumpet -Yamaha 635ST flugelhorn -Manchester Brass pocket trumpet Last edited by abundrefo on Mon Jan 26, 2009 5:47 am; edited 1 time in total GenoValet Heavyweight Member Joined: 30 Aug 2006 Posts: 1244 Posted: Mon Jan 26, 2009 4:55 am Post subject: Re: Questions about Salvationist Cornets abundrefo wrote: Hi., being sold in a city near mine.
